Inbloom Health + Medispa Blog
Lots of people want to be young forever, and why wouldn’t they? From the inside out, from flawless skin to healthy bones and joints, being young has tons of perks. But Father Time eventually comes for us all, and unfortunately, it most commonly shows up on our skin.
You can try to find your way back to youth in a jar of cream or by making healthy lifestyle adjustments, but nothing compares to the age-reversing power of dermal fillers.
Dr. Tanya Lawson and our team at Inbloom Health + MediSpa specialize in helping you take back your youth with comprehensive aesthetic treatments, including dermal fillers. Here, we’re diving deeper into what dermal fillers are and how they work, so you can decide if they’re right for you.
A closer look at fillers
It may seem like fillers have dominated the cosmetic world in recent years, but they’ve actually been around for a long time. For decades, physicians have injected everything from human fat and animal collagen to silicone into their patients’ faces, helping them reach their cosmetic goals.
Fortunately, aesthetic treatments have made significant advancements, and we now have access to the safest, most-effective dermal fillers available.
We offer two of the industry’s leading fillers, Juvéderm® and Restylane®, both of which contain some of the highest levels of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in your skin that helps it retain water. We inject a solution of hyaluronic acid directly into the areas of your face that need it most, and it works quickly to address your most frustrating cosmetic concerns.
The new fountain of youth
There’s a reason why millions of men and women are flocking to their aesthetician’s offices and asking for dermal fillers. Here’s a closer look at just a few of the most common signs of aging dermal fillers can address.
Fuller lips
As you age, your skin loses its strength and suppleness. The proteins collagen and elastin, which hold up your skin in your prime, diminish, leaving you with thin, deflated lips. Our line of dermal fillers quickly restores volume with hyaluronic acid, giving you a fuller pout. Hyaluronic acid may also stimulate your body’s natural collagen production, which can contribute to longer-lasting results.
Defined facial features
Your lips aren’t the only parts of your face that can fall victim to age. Your cheeks and jawline can also deflate and sag as the years go on. We offer dermal fillers specifically designed to fill out your facial features to give them a more youthful shape.
Fewer lines
Wrinkles are one of the most (if not the most) frustrating cosmetic concerns that come with age. In the past, you could only choose from a few options to address your wrinkles, but not anymore. Dermal fillers, because they’re so effective in restoring volume to your facial features, can also smooth out and reduce the appearance of some of those lines and folds in your face.
The resulting collagen stimulation also rebuilds your skin from within, filling in wrinkles. Bonus, dermal fillers work well with other cosmetic treatments, including Botox®, which means you address a variety of facial flaws in a few different ways.
What you can expect from fillers
Are you sold on the fact that dermal fillers can help you, but are now curious about the process itself? We’re here to give you a peek so you know what to expect.
Dr. Lawson and our team of highly trained, dedicated injectors work closely with you and conduct a thorough review of your health history and your goals to make sure that you’re a good candidate for dermal fillers. They also decide which specific filler is right for your needs.
On the day of your injection, we make sure you’re completely comfortable. You recline in a chair as we clean and prepare the injection area. To make sure you don’t feel any discomfort, we apply a topical numbing cream to your skin.
You may notice some tenderness or bruising following your injection, but these side effects are mild and typically subside quickly. Many of our patients enjoy results anywhere from 12 months to upwards of 18 months.
